Traditional Baby Carrying in Europe

I've loved carrying my baby and (now) toddler and have learned so much so quickly. 'Babywearing' has been a huge part of life for us as a family as it enables us to get on with life together.

I've been so thankful for this knowledge. The exchange of information and experience in the use of worldwide baby carriers and cloths is great. I have come to realise that my own cultures methods of baby carrying are not that well documented. So I've set up this blog to collect anecdotes, pictures and tutorials in Celtic and European traditional baby carrying.

Please email any information you have to me and we can build up a collection, in one place, of European baby carrying heritage.

Hi there. What a lovely blog!!! I am a carrying Scottish mum - I've carried both my children and know lots of other mums across the UK and the world who do the same. I am going to share your blog with them all. Lovely to see the Welsh blankets. My family are Scots/Welsh/Irish and I'm sure there was a lot of carrying done down the years!
